I’ve spent my career at the intersection of chemicals, manufacturing, and AI. As a chemical engineer working on digital transformations at McKinsey, I saw firsthand how technology is not built for the unique challenges of the chemicals industry. Large and growing product portfolios for thousands of end-use applications, and fit-for-use challenges have been solved the same way for decades. Manually.
Later, while deploying enterprise AI at Hive and Axion Ray, specifically within manufacturing, I kept seeing the same pattern. It became clear while leading AI integrations for chemical manufacturers: your commercial teams are selling massive product portfolios, and when it comes to a specific account, they’re figuring out what to sell and how to sell it, requiring both a technical and sales background. It’s challenging to pinpoint which SKU to lead with or where the biggest upsell opportunity is. It’s a slow, manual process of digging through spec sheets and CRM notes that is draining and leaves significant value on the table.
Here is where the idea behind Corvus was born. To solve this unique challenge, the chemicals industry had, which can drive innovation and empower commercial teams to surpass their goals.
I called Alex Saich, now our co-founder & CTO, to help me on this journey.
